Funding is only available for evaluators who are actively evaluating an ATE project or have evaluated an ATE project in the past 3 years.

All funding opportunities are available as reimbursement with appropriate documentation after the conference or as prepaid airfare, hotel, and event registration.

HI-TEC Conference

July 29-August 1, 2024
Kansas City, Missouri

EvaluATE will provide funding for up to eight ATE evaluators to attend the 2024 High Impact Technology Exchange Conference and present at the pre-conference workshop, “ATE Evaluators Workshop: Connect, Share, and Learn.”

Funding

  • Up to $1,500 towards transportation, lodging, and per diem.
  • Conference registration and pre-conference workshop registration.

 Requirements

  • Present and discuss a specific success, lesson learned, or technique related to your ATE evaluation work at the workshop. The presentation will be five minutes, with eight minutes of discussion. (More details will be provided if selected for support.)
  • Attend the main conference.

Selection Criteria

  • You must be a current evaluator for an ATE project or center.
  • Priority will be given to evaluators who are accepting new projects.
  • Priority will be given to evaluators who are not receiving payments from EvaluATE for other purposes.

Submission forms are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, April 26, 2024.

Notification of awards will be made by Friday, May 10, 2024.

ATE Principal Investigators' Conference

October 23-25, 2024

EvaluATE will provide funding for up to ten ATE evaluators to attend the 2024 ATE Principal Investigators Conference, including the evaluation pre-conference workshop (topic TBD).

Funding

  • Up to $1,500 towards transportation, lodging, and conference/workshop registration fees.

Requirements

  • Attend the evaluation pre-conference workshop, in addition to conference sessions and events.
  • Submit one evaluation instrument, plan, or report you developed for an ATE project/center. (The document will be requested upon selection. These materials will not be shared without permission and are not part of the selection process. We are asking for these to learn more about the evaluation in the ATE program.)
  • Write a 300-to-500-word entry for EvaluATE’s blog on an evaluation topic of your choice.

Selection Criteria

  • You must be a current evaluator for an ATE project.
  • Priority will be given to evaluators who have never attended the ATE PI conference.
  • Priority will be given to evaluators who are newer to the ATE program.
  • Priority will be given to evaluators who are not receiving payments from EvaluATE for other purposes.

Submission forms are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, August 23, 2024.

Notification of awards will be made by Friday, September 6, 2024.

Professional Development for ATE Evaluators

EvaluATE will provide funding for 20 ATE evaluators (depending on demand) to attend professional development events and trainings on evaluation topics. This funding is intended to expose ATE evaluators to advanced evaluation topics and innovative methods. Evaluators can choose from a list of trainings and conferences (both virtual and in-person) or suggest their own.

Funding

  • Up to $1,000 towards event registration fees, transportation, and lodging.

  • American Evaluation Association Summer Institute – an in-depth workshops held between June 26-28, 2024 in Washington, DC
  • Evaluation 2024 Conference – the annual conference of the American Evaluation Association taking place October 21-26, 2024 in Portland, Oregon NOTE: this conference overlaps the 2024 ATE PI Conference
  • EnCompass Learning Center – virtual live classes on a variety of evaluation topics throughout the year
  • Valeo – a suite of self-paced courses on program evaluation.
  • The Evaluators’ Institute – a series of virtual seminars hosted by Claremont Graduate University in March 2024
  • 2024 AERA Annual Meeting – the annual conference of the American Educational Research Association taking place April 11-14 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • You choose – applicants are allowed to suggest other evaluation-related opportunities.

  • Write a 300-to-500-word entry for EvaluATE’s blog on takeaways and learnings from your training.

Selection Criteria

  • You must be a current evaluator for an ATE project or center.
  • Priority will be given to evaluators who are not receiving payments from EvaluATE for other purposes.

Notification of awards will be made within two weeks of submission.
