About the Evaluator
Dr. George Chitiyo is a Professor of Educational Research & Evaluation at Tennessee Tech University. Holding a Ph.D. in Program Planning & Evaluation, he specializes in research methodology, statistical analysis, and program evaluation.
He has evaluated projects funded by, among others, the NSF, USDA, and Tennessee Department of Health. Dr. Chitiyo has evaluated multiple NSF-funded projects, including ATE, REUs, SaTC, and S-STEM. His expertise has supported program effectiveness, curriculum design, and industry-academic collaboration in STEM fields. His research spans assessment literacy, STEM education, chess in education, and technology integration in teaching and learning. He has published extensively, presented internationally, and held leadership roles within the American Evaluation Association.
Dr. Chitiyo mentors graduate students and collaborates with other experts in evaluation work. His work reflects a commitment to data-informed practices and student success.
